JasperReports Library
JasperReports Library is written in Java and it is the world’s most popular open source tool. It was initially known as Panscopic and was licensed as copyleft and was later moved to LGPL. JasperReports has the ability to produce documents that can be viewed and printed in various formats such as PDF, HTML, Word and others.

Pentaho is one of the leaders in the open-source BI tools category. It has some of the best built in features. Presently there are two editions of this remarkable too – The Community Edition and Enterprise Edition with 4 different plans for consumers. It brings the IT and business users on a single platform to visualize, explore and access data that will have an impact on the business results.

Unlike other BI tools, SpacioBI is a complete open-source tool. It has features such as cloud integration, mobile access and doesn’t require initial configuration. It was founded by SpagoWorld and offers custom services. Its documentation is available in French and English.

An open-source reporting tool, BIRT can be easily integrated with any Java or Java EE applications. It has two components- A Report Designer and a Runtime Component. Another feature of BIRT is its Charting Engine which allows a user to add charts to his/her application.

OpenI was initially a BI platform. However at present, it is a collection of plugins for two most popular tools – Jaspersoft and Pentaho. It has reliable tools to explore the Online Analytic Processing cube data and also has an excellent user interface.
