Bangalore:  An infographic by wikibon takes a comic approach to dealing with the Big Data giant. It also provides important statistics such as the quantity of money that is expected to be spent on Big Data technology. It talks about how big data is shaping the way raw data is processed. This infographic also sheds light on how Big Data is being leveraged in healthcare and media to analyze information that was previously considered to be too voluminous. One of the most important tidbits of information one can glean from this is regarding the time it used to take to decode the human genome; while this used to previously be ten years, now it is 7 days. While big data was in the past a much ignored technology, now organizations (and on a broader scale: governments) are realizing its importance and responding appropriately. Another important statistic that is stated: The Obama administration plans to allocate $200 million for Big Data research projects.
