Ensuring Growth
Having trust of people makes it easier as a leader keeping up to date with market and trends is another continuous process which helps you successfully drive your business. Sharing in forums and with peer group is another effective way of learning.
Current Job description
currently working with Accenture in leadership role in technology area. Have Global delivery portfolio for our technology business.
My advice
Create a safe environment around you, people should trust you, empower your teams and encourage them to take calculated risks. Challenge status quo and most importantly listen twice as much as you speak.
Handling Grievances
If people trust you it becomes easy to handle graviances. Some times you just can't make something happen for the employee but it's important to connect with him/her and make him/her understand why something can't be done. Looking for available options and communicating thru the process does help.
Important career decisions
A lot of them I guess in my journey I remember few of them I didn't make and I sometime regret :)
Leadership qualities
The most important one being able to connect with people. Including customers, stakeholders, peers and team. You should be genuine and honest in ur efforts. People listen to you if they trust you. Empowering others and creating a safe environment for people to take decisions is another important aspect.
Managing personal and professional life
Avoiding mistakes is virtually impossible, what you want to do is learn from them and don't make the same mistake again. Listening is an essential quality which enables you to connect the right dots.
Influenced by
There are many people who have influenced me in my life so far and more keep influencing me. I try to look for small and simple traits in people and learn from them. It's a continuous process for me.
My views on India Technical development
I think it's the R&D mindset which we need to nurture, we need to create an environment where failing is and acceptable thing. I think we take too much of pressure of doing things right the first time that's why probably we don't think "out of the box" ... we need to nurture the imagination and creativity from young age.
Family background
Born to a family of educationists, wife Arti headmistress in an international school, 2 lovely daughters Nazm and Reza.
