My advice
My sincere advice to the upcoming leaders would be to master their knacks that will allow them to work anywhere in today’s dynamic business environment.
Leadership qualities
That’s a good question. In fact, becoming a successful leader is always a big challenge. To be successful, one should be familiar with the mission and objectives of his/her own function. I believe, genuine leaders are those who do not fear failure but solve problems by taking initiatives and risks. They motivate and engage those around them, create a culture of trust, and build legitimacy for the institution as a whole.
Important career decisions
I always give importance and consideration to certain aspects when making a career decision. They are financial commitments, family, role, involvement in the job, growth path, opportunity to gain knowledge, balance work with leisure time, etc.
My views on India Technical development
Agreed that we have abundant technical talent in India. Since technology services turned into multi-billion businesses, tech product focus was bit concerning. But in the last 6 years, India software product businesses have recorded impressive 30% revenue growth and about 1000+ product start-ups have come up. New breed of Indian entrepreneurs have begun to showcase their products on a global platform.
Influenced by
Well, I had few people influence me in my life. My parents are probably my biggest influence. They taught me what I need to know, give me advice when I need it, cared for me always and I do not know how I would have figured out life without them. Secondly, my family members who always stand for me in difficult times. In my professional life, I have been extremely lucky to work with some fantastic mavericks (GS Narsing, Salil Sankaran, Swarup Ghosh, and Ravi Rao). They are all true business leaders and stimulating visionaries.
